HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Hey Folks, we're now into 2026, and although it can be trying to deal with all that the world might throw at us, and I don't mean just snow and cold days, there is also a lot of positiveness, so we'll concentrate on that.

Last year, I attended quite a few events, signed a load of books, and met a bunch of nice people. And this is paying off as I've had quite a few requests from those who want to read more about Chas and Asha from the Fenn & Lareault mystery series; Daniel and Ruth from the historical fiction series; and Silas and Clyde from Boomerang. Some have bought another of my books while others have requested that I hurry up and put out the next one – which I'll get to in a moment.

But first I want to shout out to a couple of friends who have new releases: I just love the cover of Dawn Beecroft Teetzel's latest, Take Me To Tomintoul.

Recently widowed Shivonne Barclay Harris doesn't think life could get any worse. She battles not only grief, but guilt; the love she once had for her husband, Andrew, died long before he did. A dutiful wife for years, Shivonne is unable to move on until she fulfils Andrew's deathbed request. So, armed with a hand-drawn map, an urn, and a suitcase, she travels to Tomintoul, Scotland.

However, Andrew's final resting place is on private property, and the owner, Ian, a crotchety, reclusive old bachelor forbids her entrance. Not giving up without a fight, Shivonne prolongs her stay. But the more time she spends in Tomintoul, the countryside’s stark beauty, not unlike her home province of Newfoundland, evokes childhood memories. With increasing insight, she revisits her layered past, embarking on a journey of self-understanding, and as she worms her way into Ian’s life, she awakens to life’s beauty and surprising possibilities.

Now she faces a choice: go back to the life she left behind or create a new one.

My second shout out goes to Robert Craven and his hot-off-the-press book, The Payout Game. This is the third instalment of his Garda Inpector Crowe series.

.

On the Dublin coast, nothing stays buried for long...

Garda Inspector P.J. Crowe is looking forward to a quiet Christmas in Roscarrig, a town on Ireland’s rugged east coast.

But when a body is discovered on the rocks below the lighthouse during a charity regatta, Crowe’s plans for peace are abruptly shattered.

The victim — one of Ireland’s most flamboyant celebrity bookies — is a man more accustomed to the bright lights of Dubai and New York than the bleak shoreline of North County Dublin.

When the death is hastily ruled a misadventure, Crowe isn’t convinced. His investigation draws him and his small team — Nesbitt, Redmond, and newcomer Megan Loughnane — into a dark underworld of illegal dog fights, crypto betting, and ruthless politics.

As the stakes rise, Crowe must uncover the truth before another life is lost — and before the killer cashes out for good.

Right, well, my next book will be the third in the Daniel Turcotte historical mystery series. And, the mystery to me at this point is where this story is going to go – which is one of the pleasures I get from writing these novels. I have the first four chapters down; however, it's early days and being a pantser, rather than a plotter, I'm just feeling my way along and seeing what the characters get up to.

As with my other books, I've being doing a ton of research, and one thing I will tell you is that a yacht race will feature in the story. I thought this would be a good vehicle since Daniel Turcotte so loves big bodies of water – not! All things being equal to my other novels, I expect this one could be ready around this time next year. I'll keep you posted.

In the meantime, I've been booking into this year's local events. Here's what I have, so far:

Saturday, February 14th, 10-3
Wallaceburg Museum's Valentine's Day Market
505 King St., Wallaceburg
Saturday, March 14th, 11-4
Highgate Legion Easter Market
256 King St. S., Highgate
Saturday, June 13th, 10-3
Mitchell's Bay Car Show and Vendor Fair
Mitchell's Bay Park
Saturday, September 19th, 8-4
East Kent Hot Rods for Hospice Vendor Fair
120 Main St. E., Ridgetown

I'm hoping to come up with something in May, and I might do another book signing at the Welland Indigo store in April. If you happen to be close to any of these, I'd love for you to drop by and say 'Hi'.
Well, that's all I have for now. I just wanted to touch base and let you know another book is in the works. Naturally, you can find all of my books, and links to buy, on my website: https://glennmuller.ca
Ciao for now!
